We’ve Got a Scholarship for You

At the LIM Fashion Education Foundation, our purpose is to support students. By applying for a scholarship, you may be eligible to earn awards that ease the financial burden of your education. If you are better able to pay for rent, food, and other basic living costs, you can focus on your coursework and internships.

Our scholarship recipients come from a range of backgrounds. There is no one type of student that we award a scholarship to. Recipients tend to be motivated students who are dedicated to academic and professional success.

The LIM Fashion Education Foundation provides a number of scholarships that benefit numerous students every year. Eligibility criteria vary, and not all scholarships require proof of financial need. 

The opening of the scholarship application process is announced via email, by instructors in class, and flyers posted throughout campus. Students submit an online application that is reviewed by a sub-committee of LIM FEF Board Members who review and rate each student's application. Applications are then evaluated as a group by the committee and decisions are made.

Process

The opening of the scholarship application process is announced via email, by instructors in class, and flyers posted throughout campus. Students submit an online application that is reviewed by a sub-committee of LIM FEF Board Members who review and rate each student's application. Applications are then evaluated as a group by the committee and decisions are made. 

Timing

The application is generally available from January through March. Students are notified of their awards in May. Awards are applied to the following semester. 

Application Process

Online Application

One online application lets you apply for all the LIM FEF scholarships. It takes about 45 minutes to complete this application. You'll need to submit a brief and thoughtful personal essay, a letter of recommendation, and an unofficial transcript. (Application available January 2025)

Personal Essay

Your personal essay lets us know a little more about you and how a scholarship can help you achieve your goals. The essay should be 300-400 words, or less than one page, and should take up to 2 hours to write and edit. This is your chance to shine. Your essay will help us get to know you and learn more about your personal journey.

Letter of Recommendation

You’ll need one letter of recommendation from a professor or employer. Plan to ask for the letter at least 2 weeks before the application is due and have your recommender email you their letter on letterhead as a PDF so you can attach it to your application.
